Quest Unfolding
Testimonials
"I was privileged to work with Wendy for approximately 15 years on a multidisciplinary education team supporting families in the school system who were struggling with a myriad of complex issues. These included learning and behavioural difficulties, social emotional issues, developmental differences, and inclusion concerns, just to name a few. Wendy was an extremely knowledgable colleague who was exceptionally skilled in working with families and different relationship dynamics. Wendy demonstrated a practical approach in her work with families, and always displayed genuine empathy. She effectively facilitated a place of safety and trust even in the most difficult of situations.
Families always reported feeling heard, and understood, while learning about levels of accountability, responsibility, and healthy interpersonal boundaries. Collaborating with families always occurred in a safe space free of judgement. I would highly recommend that families seek out Wendy's expertise when faced with challenging situations where experienced guidance would be helpful"

I met Wendy when my oldest was in grade one. He had become quite disruptive in class. This showed up with him playing "tricks" on his classmates (like pulling their chairs away and laughing as they fell on the floor!)
Obviously, not good behaviour. Daily calls leading to suspensions from school were frequently their solution. I felt at a loss as to what to do or where to get help. Compounding these issues were safety concerns at home for my younger son, who was often the victim of these impulses.
Looking back, I recall feeling absolutely overwhelmed with parenting. It was a process to go through. Wendy provided invaluable guidance during each phase of our process.
I am forever grateful that I didn't have to muddle through it on my own. It is increasingly common to realize that one or both parents also live with ADHD: in my case, this brought instant clarity about so much of my own school experience and life in general.
Wendy has been my first line of defence in overcoming the ineffective approach of suspension as punishment, versus correcting and redirecting in a non-punitive manner. I found this method to work; it simply needs a lot of repetition. It was worth the hard work to at least to allow my children to feel empowered instead of belittled.
Our work together has taught me to have patience with myself, allowing time for self-reflection. I am am a more proactive, present parent having addressed my own triggers, and learning how to remain calm in navigating undesirable behaviours displayed by my children.
I feel like her expertise and support guided us through a minefield we didn't know was there! I highly recommend working with Wendy, it got infinitely better for us when we did and so did our life journey together as a family.
